Homemade Goodness Now In A Pack: Nourish Your Skin With Natural Ingredients Of Our Ubtan Collection.

Did you know? Ubtan is one of the oldest skincare secrets of Ayurveda! Yes, the Charaka Samhita and Sushsuta Samhita - the most authoritative texts on Ayurveda - highlight the many benefits of applying Upatanam or Uptan. These texts suggest different natural skincare recipes for -

  • Removing impurities from the skin
  • Balancing the different "Doshas" to treat specific skin concerns
  • Promoting healthy, radiant skin
  • And delay the signs of ageing

Ayurveda also emphasizes using natural ingredients in skincare preparation to maintain its health and glow. Now that the entire globe has embraced the age-old wisdom of Ayurveda with folded hands, why should we stay behind?

At Lotus Herbals, we have blended the skincare wisdom of Ayurveda with modern science to create our Ubtan collection. It has been made with 3 magical natural ingredients - Turmeric, Sandalwood, and Rose Water.  Here's an in-depth Ayurveda-inspired skincare routine that will make you glow like a classical Apsara without any hassle. Let's dive right in!

Step 1 - Cleansing

Ayurveda emphasizes using natural cleansers that are gentle on your skin. However, natural cleansers aren't effective when deep cleaning the skin by removing fine pollution particles, waterproof sunscreen, and makeup.

The Lotus Herbals Radiance Boost Ubtan Facewash is a sulfate-free cleanser that is super gentle on the skin (just as Ayurveda recommends). Yet, its innovative anti-pollution formulation gives your skin a deep cleanse. It also combines the natural goodness of turmeric, sandalwood, and rose water to brighten and purify the skin. The balancing nature of the cleanser makes it suitable for all skin types.

Step 2 - Facial Steaming

Ayurveda recommends "Swedana" or "Bashpa Sweda," meaning facial steaming, to trigger the body's natural sweat response. Steam therapy is believed to -

  • Flush out toxins
  • Clear out pores
  • Improve blood circulation to the area
  • Promote relaxation.

You may herbs or flowers like tulsi, rose, chamomile, jasmine, and like into the boiling water to increase the benefits of the herbal steam.

Step 3 - Exfoliation

Steaming your face will soften the layer of dead skin cells that masks your inner glow. And, bring deep-seated dirt hidden in your pores closer to the surface. In Ayurveda, cleansing ingredients like turmeric, sandalwood, and rose are used for "Udvartana," an exfoliation technique focusing on circular strokes to exfoliate the skin.

The Radiance Boost Ubtan Face Scrub is the perfect gentle scrub made with all 3 of the cleansing ingredients. While scrubbing off the dead skin layer and impurities, the scrub does an excellent job at lightening tanning and dark spots. Massage it in circular motions for 2-3 minutes and focus on the most textured areas of your face. It is usually the forehead, nose, and chin area, popularly called the T-zone, which needs most of your focus during exfoliation.

Step 4 - Masking

Once your face is deeply cleansed and the dead skin cell layers are removed, your fresh skin is ready to soak in all the nutrition and goodness of an Ubtan face pack. The  Radiance Boost Ubtan Face Mask is packed with skin-nourishing ingredients that help to -

  • Lighten unwanted skin tanning
  • Brighten and even out skin tone
  • Boost the smooth, glossy glow of your skin
  • Smooth out texture
  • Sooth, calm, and heal the skin
  • Reduce inflammation and acne.

Apply an even layer of the best mask for glowing skin on your face and neck, and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water.

Step 5 - Facial Massage

Use the  WhiteGlow Vitamin-C + Gold Radiance Face Oil in the final step to nourish your skin, lock in moisture and increase blood circulation for a noticeable glow. Follow the massaging steps below after using the face mask for glowing skin for the most relaxing experience -

  • Pour a few drops of the oil into your palm and rub your palm together to warm up the products.
  • Use gentle, upward strokes to massage your face. Focus on pressure points between the eyebrows, eye region, laugh lines, jawline, and cheeks.
  • Use your knuckles in downward strokes on your neck and decolletage area to enhance lymph drainage.
  • Continue for 15 to 20 minutes. Leave the lightweight oil overnight on your face for the ultimate radiance in the morning.

Skin Benefits Of The 3 Magical Ingredients

Sandalwood (Chandan): Cooling and soothing in its potency, sandalwood has powerful antimicrobial properties that prevent rashes and acne. Its prized natural oil is very moisturizing for the skin and has been shown to delay the signs of ageing. It is a brightening ingredient that relaxes your senses with its scent and balances your skin's oil production.

Turmeric (Haldi): Mostly known for its powerful brightening properties, turmeric is also an antimicrobial ingredient that fights acne-causing bacteria. It is packed with antioxidants that boost your glow and improve skin healing.

Rose water (Gulab Jal): It has astringent properties that help to tone the skin. It is super hydrating and nourishing, which helps to protect the youthfulness of skin. It is also very calming for the skin.

Let's return to our roots and unlock the power of long-lost rituals and techniques to give our skin a holistic glow-up.
